The two-stage method requires surgery twice and is applied in most all cases.

Treatment procedures with two-stage method
- 1.An incision and a socket are made to place an implant into the jawbone.
- 2.An implant is placed into the socket.
- 3.The wound is sutured.
- 4.Over the next 3 to 6 months, the implant body and the surrounding bone are allowed to bond firmly together.
- 5.An incision is made again to attach an extension piece (abutment) to the head of the implant body.
This extension piece completes the foundation on which the artificial tooth will be placed.
- 6.A mold of the mouth and the teeth is made to create an artificial tooth, which is placed on the abutment.
